Deserted restaurant
For more than two years nothing has been heard of the Cocosul de Aur (The Golden Cock). Cocosul de Aur used to be very famous and is now in ruins. After the revolution the restaurant belonged to the Public Alimentation Enterprise but when the latter went out of business the former was taken over bz Romarta Group. Since 2003 the place is a wreck and needs complete refurbishment. Some utilities have been completely destroyed and there is no heating system. The space is for rent for 3.5 euro per square meter. Vasile Berciu, head of Romarta subsidiary, informs us that the total space is 686 square meters large, on two levels with four rooms. He also declares that a strong investor is needed to put things in order and this is one of the reasons why there are not many investors. The pensions bear part of the blame, as there are many of them and you can have a good meal at a reasonable price.
